College A Cappella Concert – Save the Date! Sat, December 1st, 7:30pm @ WHS Main Stage
Wayland College A Cappella Concert This Week
Saturday, December 1 — 7:30pm, WHS Main Stage
A highlight of the Wayland holiday season–the College A Cappella Concert–is almost here. Wayland High School’s talented a cappella groups – the Muses, T-Tones and Madrigals – will appear in concert on Saturday, December 1 at 7:30pm in the Wayland High School Theater, along with three outstanding college groups — the award-winning co-ed Berklee Upper Structure, the all-female Boston University Chordially Yours, and the all-male Brown University Jabberwocks. MCs for the event will be seniors, Jack Gaddis and Tucker Jones.
Upper Structure is an award-winning co-ed a cappella group from Berklee College of Music. Their most recent accomplishments are placing 2nd at the ICCA Finals in New York City, being featured on the Best of Collegiate A Cappella 2018 album for their rendition of “She Used to Be Mine,” and releasing their debut album, “Bridges.” They are currently working on recording their second full-length album to be released in Spring 2019.
The Madrigals (Mads) are Wayland High School’s co-ed a cappella group being featured this week as well. Under the direction of seniors, Alexa Calder and Emma DiIanni, the Madrigals are 12 members strong and are the oldest a cappella group at Wayland High School. They sing everything from pop covers to rock classics. Director, Alexa Calder, notes, “We’re a fun, coed group and we’ve been working really hard for the upcoming concerts. It’s been really cool being a director so far and we all can’t wait to perform on Saturday.”
Priced at $18, tickets are still available at Donelan’s, Russell’s Garden Center, and here: Buy Tickets Here
