Seeking Co-Chairs for CAPA

Are you an enthusiastic arts supporter?

CAPA needs co-chairs for a two-year term starting in June to help run this great non-profit organization. We are the only parent group to solely support the fine arts programs at WHS.

Why volunteer for the Creative Arts Parent Association?
CAPA has been around for a long time! In the last four years, the Creative Arts Parent Association has raised $78,000 for the fine arts programs at WHS.

At the end of this school year, our co-chair terms will end. We have really enjoyed helping the fine arts programs at WHS and we know what a great support CAPA has been to the creative and performing arts. Some of the items we have funded over the last few years include:

  • Master classes
  • Support for music and art district and all-state festivals
  • Field trips for fine arts students
  • Helped purchase instruments: P-bone, electric violin, guitars, bassoon, percussion, etc.
  • Art display panels – used for art and theater events
  • Shared funding of Steinway piano overhaul with the Little Theater Concert Series; piano used for all performances in WHS theater
  • Apple performing arts technical laptop for Main Stage theater
  • Professional development workshops
  • Many more items

Being a co-chair is similar to being involved in any of the other parent organizations around town – we run two college a cappella concerts as fundraisers (and have added an art show once a year), organize help for the teachers when they need it, and do various other things.

You would join a great team of parents who have kids involved in the arts at WHS. If you think this sounds interesting, we would love to talk to you. Contact us or call one of us.

Thanks for your consideration!
