Pelham Island Pictures is thrilled to announce that their film, 5 Miles Astride the River: The Story of Wayland will premiere at Wayland High School on November 21st at 7:30pm. This is a historical documentary — produced by Wayland High School graduates, Zander Cowen and Jacob Sussman — that traces the evolution of Wayland over 375 years.

You can view a trailer for the film and learn more about the premiere at the following link:

The event will be co-hosted by the Walden Forum, a free, non-profit lecture series that serves the MetroWest community and has hosted speakers such as Tom Ashbrook of NPR’s “On Point” and Dr. Jeffrey Hoffman, a former NASA astronaut.

In addition, Kevin Delaney, a teacher at Wayland High School and 2014 Massachusetts State History Teacher of the Year, will begin the evening with a presentation on how local history can serve as a window to view larger themes of the American experience.

We hope that you and your family will join us at the premiere to celebrate and reflect upon Wayland’s rich history!
